Obituary for
Judith Ann "Judy" Camirand
SEDALIA -- Judith Ann (Woolery) Camirand, 74, of Sedalia, died Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia, Missouri. She was born February 20, 1942 in Sedalia, Missouri, a daughter of William McDowell and Artie N. (Pettis) McDowell. She attended Smith Cotton High School.
Judy married Phillip G. Woolery on September 8, 1959 and this union produced four children, Phillip Mitchell, Leslie Michele, Shawn Melissa and Chance Martin. After Phil passed away on September 20, 1991, Judy married Ronald T. Camirand on December 4, 1993.
Judy was a homemaker for most of her adult life. Judy selflessly devoted her life to her family, her church and serving others. She loved decorating the church altar with homegrown flowers. Most recently, she served at two local group homes for mentally handicapped adults, making sure that each person got the attention they needed and special treats on his or her birthday and holidays.
She challenged others at Sacred Heart Church to financially support Sacred Heart School by matching her donation. Judy had a gift for cooking, especially her delicious baked goods which the whole family enjoyed. Anyone who ever heard Judy laugh will remember it. She laughed often.
Judy is survived by her husband, Ron (of the home); her brother, William McDowell, and his wife, Nancy, of Sedalia; a daughter, Rhonda Camirand, of East Moline, Illinois; a son, Chance, and his wife, Cheryl, of Leavenworth, Kansas; a daughter, Shawn, and her wife, Jani, of Sedalia; a daughter, Leslie, and her husband, Jeff, of Sedalia; and a son, Mitch, and his wife, Cindi, of Kansas City, Missouri. Judy was also blessed with seven granddaughters: Jennifer Hesse, Elizabeth Woolery, Stephanie Stone, Amanda Kindle, Kalee Jobson, Anna Woolery and Molly Woolery; and one favorite grandson, Gabriel Hesse. She was further blessed by seven great grandchildren: Emily Hesse, Ava Stone, Sophia Hesse, Eli Schaffer, Kaleb Schaffer, Kaylen Kindle and Aviana Jobson. She was preceded in death by her then husband, Phil Woolery, and by her parents.
Visitation, including the rosary, will commence at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, August 22 at Ewing Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 23 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Geoffrey Brooke, Jr., presiding. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Eugene North (cousin), and Jeff Woolery, Chris Woolery, Kevin Woolery, Dean Woolery and David Woolery (all nephews).
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Sacred Heart School, 416 W. 3rd Street, Sedalia, Missouri 65301 (please be sure the check says “Sacred Heart School”).
