Carl Lee Allen
Carl Lee Allen age 90 formerly of Sedalia died on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles, MO. He was a W W ll Veteran. He was born June 7, 1926 in Benton County to Francis and Maudie Ellen Burns Allen. He was the last remaining member of his immediate family. Carl enlisted in the U.S. Navy entering into active duty April 13, 1944 at Treasure Island, California. He was honorably discharged January 2, 1948 as a Seaman First Class at Alameda, California. He often recited that his service was 3 years, 8 months and 20 days, of that time, he was on board the L S T ship for 2 years, only going ashore occasionally for cookouts. He was stationed at Shanghai, China and Guam. He was entitled to wear the following ribbons and insignia: Victory, Asiatic Pacific, American Area and Phillipine Liberation. Carl worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad out of Kansas City as a carman. He is survived by a daughter; Vicke Marriott and her husband Clyde, a grandson; Dallas Marriott and his wife Erin, a great grandson Vance Michael Marriott all of St. Charles, MO, also many nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like him to be remembered for his honesty and sharing what he had to anyone with a need. Burial will be in Brushy Cemetery southeast of Cole Camp, MO at 3:00 P.M.
