Velma Case
Velma M. Case, 86, of Sedalia, died Saturday morning, October 22, 2016 at the Fair View Nursing Home. She was born May 27, 1930 in Liberal, Kansas, daughter of Frank and Beuna Spaulding Fisher. In April, 1964, in Sedalia, she married James Earl Case who died January 5, 1994. Mrs. Case was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church and was active in the Senior Center for many years. She ran a convalescent home out of her home for 33 years. Survivors include a son, James Case and wife, Kelli, of Gravois Mills, Mo; two step daughters, Janet Shelledy, Sedalia; Myrna Gorrell and husband Larry; Sedalia; a sister, Evelyn Walker, Versailles; her companion, Kenneth Rush, Sedalia; 3 grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a step daughter, Anna Catherine Manual, two brothers, Edgar Fisher and Wray Fisher, four sisters, Thelma Friedly, Ruby Mabbot, Irene Schroeder, Mildred McMullin. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home with Brother Dan Talbott officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family suggests memorial to the church.
