Christeen Raines (Taylor)
Christeen Raines age 99 of Rural Pettis County entered her heavenly home on Monday, November 14, 2016 at Lenior Woods in Columbia, Missouri. She was born near Nelson, Missouri on December 17, 1916, the daughter of Fred C. Taylor and Susan Clara (Townsend) Taylor. She was united in marriage to J.W. (Jake) Raines on May 8, 1941 in Sedalia, Missouri and he preceded her in death on February 3, 1997. In addition to her parents and husband, Christeen was preceded in death by three sisters; Lorene Hooper, Reba Martin and Clara Belle Jeffries and three brothers; Franklin Taylor, James Taylor and Freddie Taylor. She is survived by her son Bill Raines (Joyce) of Columbia, Missouri, one grandson John C. Raines (Mary Beth) and two great grandchildren Emily and Will Raines all of Marshall, Missouri. Christeen loved her family and spent many years working with her husband on their farm in Pettis County. Her family remembers her delicious meals and big vegetable garden. Her many acts of kindness and caring for others will be remembered by all. She will be greatly missed by those who love her. Visitation will be held at the Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home in Sedalia on Saturday November 19 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. with memorial services immediately following at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be at 2:30 P.M. at Millers Chapel Cemetery northeast of Sedalia. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are suggested to the Children's Therapy Center of Sedalia, Millers Chapel Cemetery Association of Nelson or L.S.S. Lenior Chapel Fund of Columbia.
