Obituary for Earl Eugene Rutherford

Earl Eugene  Rutherford
Earl Eugene Rutherford, 72, of Sedalia, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at his home with his family and cousins by his side. He was born on September 6, 1944 in Knoxville, TN son of Cecil and Violet Berkley Rutherford. On Nov. 14, 1964 in Lee's Summit, Earl married Catherine Yvonne Burd, who survives him.

Earl served in the Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He worked for Bill Greer Ford and Town & Country Motors in the body shop as a repairman. He later worked for O'Reilly Automotive as a driver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on crafts. Earl was always helping the grandchildren by working on there cars. He was a loving husband, dad, grandfather and enjoyed spending time with all his family.

In addition to his wife, Earl is survived by three daughters; Kimberly Braverman (Stuart) of Sedalia, Tammy Rucker (Steve) of Sedalia, Tina Price (Lonny) of Peculiar, MO, ten grandchildren and one great granddaughter, Brinlee Rupe.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Downing, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens in Sedalia.

Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Meyer (Grandson), Michael Braverman (Grandson), Jim Harvey, Doug Jones, Brandon Rupe and Charlie Burd. Honorary pallbearers will be (Grandchildren), Whitney Rupe, Lindsay Braverman, Haley Kahrs, Allison Rucker, Elizabeth Braverman, Ellen Braverman, Zachary Price and Madison Roberts. There will be full military honors by V.F.W. Post 2591 and the United States Air Force. Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church Celebration Center or Crossroads Hospice.

Condolences may be shared with the family through this online guestbook.
