Clifford Scott
Clifford Scott, 96, of Sedalia, died Thursday afternoon, April 27, 2017 at the Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia, Mo. He was born July 6, 1920, in Sedalia, Missouri; son on Isom Scott and Myrtle Murry. On October 9, 1945, in Sedalia, Missouri, he married Hazel Irene Manes who preceded him in death. Mr. Scott worked as a truck driver and had served in the United States Army during WWII where he drove a half track. He enjoyed playing baseball after the service here in Sedalia. After his retirement he enjoyed working on engines and gardening. Survivors include a niece, Laura Wilson, Shawnee, Kansas; a nephew, Charles Woodall, Independence, Missouri; and a friend Georgia Clark, Sedalia, Missouri. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita Hotsonpiller and Esther Jackson and a half brother, Ed Scott. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at the Crown Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Ted Francis officiating. Burial will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery with full military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home.
