Wanda Jean Flippin
Wanda Jean Flippin age 78 of Sedalia died on Sunday January 8, 2017 at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia. She was born on April 20, 1938 in Beaman, Missouri daughter of William Arthur and Anna Meryl Wear McMullin. On June 29, 1958 in Sedalia she married Floyd Eugene Flippin, Sr. and he died on September 1, 2015. Wanda graduated from Smithton High School in 1955 and then from Sedalia Business College. Early on she worked as a waitress and then at Town & Country Shoe Company. She later worked for Bothwell Hospital in housekeeping, retiring with thirteen years of service. She enjoyed gardening, attending plays at Arrow Rock Theater and going to the Casino at Boonville. Wanda is survived by a daughter; Julie M. England of Sedalia, one brother; Floyd Eugene Flippin, Jr. of Sedalia, one sister; Linda Vinson of Sedalia, two brothers; Charles McMullin of Stover and Kenneth McMullin of Wichita, Kansas, three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law Stevon England and two sisters; Mary Heckart and Anita Bostion. Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday January 11, 2017 at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home with Pastor Kenny Cripe officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home on Wednesday. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Sedalia Animal Shelter.
